Ir. Alex Vermeulen (1964) works as specialist on a wide array of subjects, from modelling and measuring of local air pollution around roads to dry deposition modelling and measurements, and on regional and global transport (inverse) modelling of greenhouse gases, using mesoscale Eulerian models like WRF-chem and Lagrangian (particle) models. Other areas of interest are data-acquisition. complex real-time measurement applications and inverse emission verification modeling. He was and is involved as PI in many (inter)national projects on climate change (e.g. CarboEurope, GHGEurope, ICOS, ACTRIS). He coordinated the EU FP5 RTD project CHIOTTO and now coordinates the EU FP7 Infrastructure project InGOS. Presently Director of the ICOS Carbon Portal.
